JESUS CHRIST IN THE PAGES OF THE OLD TESTAMENT

Have you ever read the Old Testament and wondered, Where is Jesus in all of this?

You’re not alone. Even the disciples, after Christ’s resurrection, struggled to see how the ancient Scriptures foretold His life, death, and resurrection. That is, until Jesus Himself walked with them on the road to Emmaus and, beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself (Luke 24:27).

The truth is, the Bible is not a collection of disconnected stories but one grand narrative of redemption, with Jesus at the center. Some passages point to Him clearly, while others whisper His coming in types, shadows, and promises. Yet every law, sacrifice, king, and covenant ultimately finds its fulfillment in Christ.

In this weekly blog series, we’ll journey through the Old Testament to uncover how it all leads to Jesus and why these ancient words still matter for us today. Because if the risen Lord saw them as vital for understanding His mission, shouldn’t we?

My prayer is that this series will ignite a renewed passion for the entirety of God’s Word in our hearts and help us grow together. Together, let’s marvel at how the God who spoke to Abraham, Moses, and the prophets is the same God who sent His Son to save us. May this journey draw us closer to Christ, enrich our worship, and inspire us to share His gospel with others.

Let’s open our Bibles, our minds, and our hearts to see Jesus Christ in the pages of the Old Testament – the Old Testament isn’t just history… It’s His story. And like the disciples on the road to Emmaus, may Jesus Christ Himself walk with us and expound all the scriptures the things concerning Himself unto us.

Soli Deo Gloria – to God alone be the glory!
