We are so excited to announce that Reverend Linda Hunter as been appointed as our Transitional Minister beginning January 1, 2018.

Linda hails from Saskatchewan, the land of waving wheat.  She was born in Regina but has called Calgary her home now for over forty years. Her husband Gord is also a minister in the United Church and serves the rural community of Rockyford.  Together, they have raised two great kids, Dawn and Brendan who have added to the family circle by marrying Andrew and Heather.  Linda and Gord are very proud of their four grandsons:  Jordan, Nelson, Aemon and Nicky.

The gospel has always engaged Linda and she is drawn to the hope and reconciliation that it offers.  She also has a passion for social justice and the healing that is needed for the marginalized in our world. Here is a note from Linda to our congregation …

Dear Friends at Central,

The Christmas season affords me the opportunity to wish all of you a most sacred and holy season.  The birth of the Christ Child is a reminder that God is always at work, fashioning new beginnings and offering new life.

I want to share with you my personal joy at being appointed to Central for the next two years.  I am eager to begin walking a journey of faith with you and look forward to meeting you in January.

Christmas blessings from our house to yours!

On Sunday, December 10th, we were treated to an delicious Christmas dinner hosted by our Filipino Fellowship. There was also a Photo Booth that many took advantage of – here are the pictures!

With the retirement of both our full-time Pastors, after many years of loving dedication, we are looking for one full-time minister that can embrace our rich heritage and be instrumental in guiding us to the next steps of ministering to the community.
